In the forest below Höhenwart there has been a spring since time immemorial: "Das Heilig Brünndl". Its water is said to have healing powers for eye diseases. A chapel still stands next to it today.
The path leads from the market square along the pavement in a westerly direction past the Raiffeisenbank - along federal road 1 to the cemetery - fire brigade depot and Energie AG - then turns right towards Auleiten. The asphalt road leads us through meadows to the pilgrimage church of Auleiten.
We reach the Heilig Brünndl through a beautiful forest. A legend tells us that in a forest near Frankenmarkt, an image of the Virgin Mary hung on a tree. To protect it from storms and rain, it was brought to the church in Frankenmarkt. The next morning it hung on the tree again. Afterwards, a chapel was built on this spot. The healing spring located there should be visited especially for eye complaints.
Continue along the forest path and you will come back to the road to Pöndorf in the hamlet of Höhenwarth. After a sharp right turn and then a left turn, we turn right to the north on a forest road at the edge of the forest and later follow the signpost into the forest. After about 500m in the forest, we meet a forest road leading southwest, which then leads us out of the forest through the meadows of Buchscharten back to Frankenmarkt.
