Bike Tour: Vorchdorf – Steinerkirchen an der Traun – Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting – Vorchdorf

The Two Sides of the Alpine Pasture
A bike ride from Vorchdorf via Steinerkirchen an der Traun to Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting and back!

Route Description:
An easy bike route starting in the center of Vorchdorf, then heading toward Mühltal, turning left toward the Alm, and following it until the turnoff from the road across the Penninger Steg to the left bank of the Alm.

After the footbridge, turn right onto the gravel path. Please be considerate of hikers; walk your bike if necessary! Follow the Alm trail to the Almegg Bridge, then turn left toward the market square in Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting. Go straight across the market square, down the S-curve, and turn right onto Moorbadstraße, then left onto Gänsenau. Continue toward Moorbad and turn left about 100 meters before reaching it.

In Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting, there are plenty of opportunities to take a break and refuel with good food and refreshing drinks. Pass the Berger cider bar and follow the road. At the next intersection, turn left, then immediately turn right again and follow the road. With the Traunstein in view, ride through the villages of Dorfham and Kößlwang and follow the road across the railroad crossing—PLEASE BE CAREFUL!—and you’ll then reach the state highway to Vorchdorf (or Bad Wimsbach-Neydharting). Here, turn right onto the bike lane and continue to Feldham.

If necessary, get off your bike. After Feldham, keep slightly to the right and follow the road. At the roundabout, stay on the bike and pedestrian path. Please watch out for the exits. Then turn right under the highway and continue straight into the center of Vorchdorf.
In the center of Vorchdorf, too, local restaurants will treat you to regional delicacies, international cuisine, and refreshing drinks.

The bike tour is partially signposted with new, standardized green signs as part of the “Radstern Almtal” mobility project, and partially still with older signs.
