Circular Trail Groileithen

Description:
From the town center, the trail leads to the town park with children's playgrounds and fitness trail, on to Neupernstein Castle and up to the Panoramabankerl. Through the beech grove the trail leads up to the Groileiten farm café and back via the village of Weinzierl.

Directions:
From the post office, walk along Dietlstraße to Parkstraße and continue to the right to the town park with children's playgrounds and fitness trail. Through the park you will reach Neupernstein Castle, which dates back to the 15th century and today houses the Kirchdorf Regional Music School and attractive halls for cultural events.

From here the path K 94 branches off to the Georgenberg. (Walking time approx. 1.5 hours)

The circular trail K 4 leads briefly further uphill and over a bridge you reach a ditch. After a short steep climb you can take a rest on a shady panoramic bench.The path continues up through the beech grove to the Groileiten farm café. After a little refreshment, the asphalt road leads downhill over a bridge to a crossroads.

Here, on the AV trail no. 19, a detour via the Zederbauer Chapel to Altpernstein Castle is an option.

Our trail leads down the road to the village of Weinzierl, from where you can reach the Georgenberg in an hour on trail K 94 or in half an hour you will be back at the starting point in Kirchdorf.

Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - railway station Kirchdorf/Krems: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 2.5 hours from Vienna.
