Our daffodils bloom from mid-May to early June
This wonderful meadow of daffodils is in PRIVATE OWNERSHIP - so when entering the meadow, we respect the rights of the landowners who tolerate walking on the meadow or picking flowers.
Let's remember that
Some of the daffodils in Upper Austria are under nature protection
we don't leave existing, well-trodden paths and don't make campfires
we don't leave any rubbish behind
we pick as many daffodils as there is space between our thumb and forefinger and we don't lie down in the flowers
we never dig up onions
larger amounts of daffodils in closed rooms cause strong odor, which can also be harmful to health
This is how you get to the Almtal (to Scharnstein or Grünau im Almtal):
We recommend that you travel by public transport!
by train: from Wels station take the Almtalbahn (line 153) in the direction of Grünau im Almtal to the Traxenbichl stop;
numerous connections from Wels station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101)
by bus: OÖVV bus line 533 Gmunden - Scharntein - Grünau - Almsee; bus stop Traxenbichl North
by car:
Westautobahn A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A9 - Exit Ried/Tr. - Voitsdorf - Pettenbach -Scharnstein
Inntalautobahn A8 Passau - Wels - Voralpenkreuz A9 -
Westautobahn A1: Munich - Salzburg - Regau - Gmunden - Scharnstein- in the direction of Grünau im Almtal - turn off Traxenbichl/Almwegg (Asmag company) - Traxenbichl stop or Hauergraben collective car park (driving ban furtheron)
