The 172-kilometre Nordwaldkammweg II runs along the European Green Belt, partly on Czech and partly on Austrian territory.
If you are looking for hours of hiking without encountering any dwellings, this is the right place for you.
As the Nordwaldkammweg II runs northwards parallel to the classic Nordwaldkammweg, it can be used as an outward or return route. However, it is also possible to walk both trails in one in figure-eight loops. There are also 15 connecting paths. The Green Belt Centre in Windhaag near Freistadt is also located on the trail with the special exhibition Nordwaldkammweg, which is definitely worth a visit and gives you a better understanding of the area you are hiking through. The trail starts in Phyrabruck/NÖ. and ends west of the Dreisesselhaus/D on the Hochstein.
The Nordwaldkammweg II is a cross-border variant and starts in Phyrabruck near Gmünd or Nové hrady.
