How to get to the Almtal (to Pettenbach im Almtal):
We recommend that you travel by public transport!
by train: from Wels train station with the Almtalbahn (line 153) to Grünau im Almtal;
Numerous connections from Wels station to the main trains on the Westbahn line (line 101), Pettenbach or Steinbachbrücke stop
by bus:
OÖVV bus line 480 Scharnstein - Pettenbach - Kirchdorf - stop Pettenbach OÖ Ranklleiten or Pettenbach OÖ Sausbachbrücke
With the Traunstein Taxi Route 70 from Scharnstein or Vorchdorf via Pettenbach to the stop H GH Ranklleiten or I Heiligenleithen, call at least 1 hour in advance on the number 050-422 1691 at the taxi headquarters or order on the otaxi app.
By walking: From the center or the Pettenbach train station or the Steinbachbrücke train station in the Almtal, you can comfortably hike the described paths to the Seisenburg ruins!
by bicycle:
On the Almtalradweg R11 via Pettenbach to GH Ranklleiten, Heiligenleithen to the parking lot at the beginning of the hiking trail to the ruins.
On the Traunviertel tour, stage 2, coming from Schlierbach via Magdalenaberg (to Gmunden) to the car park in the village of Dörfl at the beginning of the hiking trail to the ruins.
Please watch out for the traffic when crossing the B 120!
by car:
Motorway A1: Vienna - Voralpenkreuz-A9 - exit Ried / Tr. as well as Inntal motorway A8 Passau - Wels - Voralpenkreuz A9 - exit Ried / Tr. - Voitsdorf - Pettenbach on the B 120 in the direction of Scharnstein, after the bridge over the B120 turn left into Seisenburgstrasse and follow the road to the parking lot in the Dörfl district at the beginning of the path to the Seisenburg ruins
Westautobahn A1: Munich - Salzburg - Regau - Gmunden - Scharnstein in the direction of Pettenbach, before the bridge over the B 120 turn right into Seisenburgstraße and follow the road to the parking lot in the Dörfl district at the beginning of the path to the Seisenburg ruins
