Description: SAFETY NOTES FOR SNOWSHOE HIKING: We do not assume any liability. Each guest acts at his/her personal responsibility and should be able to properly assess their own fitness. Watch out for any changes in the weather - signs include gathering wind, fot and a rise in temperature. Stay up-to-date- with the current situation from the avalanche warning report, e.g. on www.lawinen.at! Heed the avalanche warning lights and signs. Follow the instructions of the ski patrols and emergency services. Never rely on already existing tracks! They are no guarantee for protection from avalanches and may lead in a completely wron direction. For emergencies, save the phone numbers of the lift company (+43 50 140) and the mountain rescue (140) on your mobile phone. Should you end up in a valley without reception, remove the SIM card and call 112!

The following tours lead through alpine terrain and may only be negotiated with the proper equipment. During storms or when there is a risk of avalanches, the snowshoe trails are closed! The tour stars right beside the information board ath the mountain statio. At first, the hike leads along the inns, past the Alpine lodge village "Hüttendorf" heading west. At the valley station of the Heumahdgupf T-bar lift, you'll cross the mountain slope (heading south). After a few minutes, you'll reach the dip between the front and rear Edeltal valley. Further on, follow the course of the valley (Alberfeldkogel sign). Before leading down into Edeltal valley, the trail turns in a nothern direction here. Following an old ski slop, you now ascend into the valley between Heumahdgupf and Alberfeldkogel. Having reached the northern faces of the "Höllengebirge", you now follow a ridge heading north-west to a plateau (Caution in poor visibility!). Heading across the little plateau the trail leads to the last short ascent up to the peak of the Alberfeldkogel (1.709m), one of the most scenic viewpoints in Northern Salzkammergut!
