Ski tour Rohrauer Größtenberg (touring area Sengsengebirge)

The Rohrauer Größtenberg is a secure ski tour in the heart of Sengsengebirge and rewards you with a beautiful panoramic view of the Hallermauern to Priel group.

From the Rettenbach car park you have to walk the street to the Koppengut (no parking space), turn left past the Koppengut and follow the street to the head of the valley. Here you cross the brook and then walk briefly and steeply up to the forest road (summer marking).
Go right along the street to above the Saubachgut. Here you follow the summer markings to a forest road at 1,130 meters. Cross the road and unmarked up in the high forest until you reach the forest road that leads to the Kogleralm at 1,240 m for the last time. Cross this and walk a steep forest ridge to the board stone at 1,437 m. Immediately to the left of the ridge that becomes lighter (right Wechten) up to around 1,620 m and finally, with the summit in front of you, up and down over the south-west ridge to the summit of Rohrauer Großestenberg.

From the summit in a south-easterly direction into the Upper Rottal, where there is usually firn soon in spring. At the end of the magnificent summit slope at around 1,620 m, keep to the right and drive in the hilly terrain towards the south-west ridge at a good 1,500 m. Now you have to go up and over the flank back to the ascent track on the south-west ridge (counter climb 100 meters in altitude). The further descent like ascent track.
