Hike to the favorite mountain of Empress Elisabeth
Starting point:
Jainzen accessible by walk 3 from the centre
(47 ° 43'30 "N - 013 ° 37'26 " E - 548 m),

Directions: From the centre towards Salzburg - about 250 metres in front of the B 158 to the right of the Bridge over the River Ischl. After 600 m at larger houses turn right.
Continue straight on the narrow road, after 1.5km at a left turn (sign) parking is available.
Caution: do not park 100 metres before the parking in the crossing area!

Endpoint: As a starting point - round trip
Walking time: 1 hour ascent - descent 30 minutes plus 10 minutes back to the starting point
Difference in altitude: 270 m ascent, descent 270 m
Requirements: Although this is the shortest of the featured tours, sure-footedness is required. There are many paths which cross this route. Only follow the red-white- red markings!
Variations: It is possible the do the trail in reverse, then 50 minutes ascent and descent 50 minutes.

It is reported that Empress Elisabeth stopped to read, paint and write poetry at the top of the
Jainzenberg. The Jainzenberg is right behind the Kaiservilla and Kaiser Park

Follow the footsteps of the Empress from the starting point in Jainzen.
Cross the brook behind the sign on a small bridge and climb a few metres to a transverse path. Another sign points to two routes follow the variant to the left. After a short climb, the initially broad flat forest road narrows after about 10 minutes walking. Initially running in an easterly direction in a short time it turns into a meadow overlooking Roith to the southwest and begins to rise. The trail climbs an ascent of 150m alternating between flat and steep sections. On reaching the short fixed rope stretched between the trees (necessary to help only very frightened hikers) the peak is only a few metres away (47 ° 43'15 "N- 013 ° 37'25 "E - 814 m). After a short descent there are magnificent views of the Dachstein to the south and Wolfgangsee to the west. Soon after the descent path, towards the southwest, is flat. Then it has many steep curves. After about 15 minutes descent the trail is flat and goes straight on (note markings).

On reaching the first meadow, go about 150m and turn sharp right (not straight). The trail is now almost a path. At a crossroads with signposts (47 ° 43'21 "N - 013 ° 37'08 " E) it is possible to descend directly to Bad Ischl. Alternatively go straight on for about 10 minutes to reach the starting point.
