Trail number: K82, 14, 47, K83
The hiking trail leads at the back of the monastery over a small gravel path to a road. There it continues to the left (if you have children, take a short detour to the right to the "Mahlzeit" playground with play stations such as the salad and apple seesaw) on a meadow path to the Calvary Chapel, past the Haslinger houses to the end of the asphalt road.
From there, a meadow and forest path leads up into the wooded slope of the Grillenparz. Once you have reached the "Schmickinger Kapelle", there is only a short climb to the summit. There you will be rewarded with the magnificent view all the way to the hilly Mühlviertel.
On the descent over meadow paths you will enjoy a magnificent view of the Tote Gebirge. Over the Schaunberg you will then come through the forest. From there you can already see the towers of Schlierbach Abbey, in the direction of which the SPES Future Academy awaits you after about 10 min. There you can eat in the dark enjoyment room (note opening hours!).
Continue to the country butchery Schröcker with inn and beautiful guest garden. There you can enjoy a fresh "Kistenbratl" (Sat), "Kesselheiße" but also a tasty menu with salad buffet.
Finally, you should go again to the Panorama Stift Schlierbach (former Genusszentrum) to take the famous Schlierbacher cheese for yourself, or as a gift for friends.
