A tour of medium difficulty through Aigen-Schlägl

0 km You start at the church in Aigen-Schlägl. Now walk in the direction of the railway station. After a few metres, turn right into Kirchengasse and past the Kulturhaus. After the cultural centre, turn left and then right into the narrow path between the houses. You will pass the cemetery wall on the right and the children's playground and then the kindergarten on the left. Now leave the tarmac road and turn left onto the narrow meadow path that runs alongside the

0.9 km Glashüttenteich pond. At the end of the pond, walk left along the pavement next to the road. Before crossing the Mühlkreisbahn railway tracks, turn right, continue along the avenue, keep left and cross the tracks. Continue straight ahead to the

1.9 km Bruckmühle (beautifully renovated, small house) Here you can take a shortcut (turn left). However, you walk straight ahead parallel to the Große Mühl river and past the pond on the right. The meadow path turns into a forest path. You soon leave the course of the Große Mühl and continue left. You come to the Mühltalblickweg and the Große Mühl hiking trail. The route leads out of the forest again. After crossing the small stream at the biotope, continue to the right. You will soon reach another

3.5 km of ponds at Schlägl Abbey (bench) and run towards the village of Baureith. When you reach the tarmac road, turn left and stay on it for about 150 metres before turning right again. At the back of the village of Baureith and between the houses, walk in a northerly direction. At the end of the village, turn left towards Aigen-Schlägl. At the

5.1 km houses in the valley hollow, watch out for the turn-off to the left. The route runs between the houses. The meadow path now leads directly to the small forest. After a short climb, leave this again and shortly afterwards look out for the junction downhill to the Galgenbach stream.
