Route:
Town square - towards Maltschbachtal - left after the end of the village - detour to the "Wöss" observatory - Eben goods road towards Windhaag - right at the municipal boundary - over the Hundsberg into Maltschbachtal - Hacklbrunn goods road back to Sandl.

Sandl lies entirely in the Freiwald, which together with the Waldviertler Nordwald and the Bohemian Blansk Forest forms one of the largest closed forest areas.

A wide range of maps and information material is available from the municipal office, the information point on the town square, the Sandl innkeepers, the Raiffeisenbank Sandl and the SPAR department stores' in Sandl.
