The trail leads you along the Große Mühl - past the legend of the Teufelbruckmühle mill - to the Sachsenhoferbach stream. There you hike through a beautiful forest landscape (Valley of Nature Beings, Dwarf Valley) to the Unterkagererhof farm. This farm from the 16th century has been preserved in its original state and is run as an open-air museum.
At Unterkagererhof you will also find a stone circle at the end of the meadow - you are welcome to continue building the circle. With the help of hikers, the structure will continue to grow.
Walk past gate stones and the Immacula memorial, with a short detour to the Teufelsstein (Devil's Stone), from which healing water (effective for eye complaints) springs, before continuing on to the Hollerberg.
On the Hollerberg stands St George's Church, which, according to the founding legend, was commissioned by a countess who was finally healed on the Hollerberg after long sleepless nights.
You then have to walk back to the foot of the Hollerberg and towards the Hollerbergergut. At the cottage there is a turn-off to a forest path (watch out for the signpost next to a gatepost!). You then have the choice of hiking over the Iron Cross to the hermit's hut (the last section leads right through the forest and is a little steep, but otherwise easy to walk on) or staying on the forest road. The spot at the hut invites you to take a short break, as this place has a very calming and energising effect.
Then cross the stream and pass a cabbage patch to reach the Hehenberg goods road. Follow the road towards Große Mühl and turn right at the second farmhouse. Passing an old draw well, you reach the Schönberg ruins - a short detour away from the path - from where you have a beautiful view over the Mühl valley.
There are also unusual seating areas where you can take a short break. Unfortunately, you can no longer see anything of the ruins themselves from above; only when you walk past them below can you still see the old walls high above.
Finally, you walk along the Große Mühl to the Teufelmühle inn.
