Beautiful circular hiking path around the lake. During summer the pond is popular for swimming and fishing. From Steinergut in Vorderstoder the meadow path leads to the well visible Schaffergut farm. From here follow the private road on the left to a parking area from where you turn right onto a forest road to Schafferteich pond.
On the way back take the path over the damm and then left to (cider tavern) past Ferienhof Großgrub, back to the above mentioned parking area.
Another option leads from the Großgrubergut farm to the right onto a road about 150 m until the markings for trail nr. 4 – follow the trail to your left down through a forest to Vorderstoder.

Pyhrnbahn stop Windischgarsten (10 km) or Hinterstoder (15 km) -> from the place
