A circular hiking trail that allows you to immerse yourself in the history of Liebenau. The turning point is the Jankusmauer in the village of Liebenstein. Numerous legends surround the enigmatic cup stones, cult sites and mystical places along the way. The first third of the legend trail coincides with the Celtic Trail (No. 34) and takes you through the headwaters of the Black and White Aist rivers.
Refreshments are available at guesthouse Frisch, Liebenstein.
The municipality of Liebenau is also known as the "roof of the Mühlviertler Alm". Its high altitude - after all, it is the highest municipality in Upper Austria - and its possession of the highest pass road in the country are reason enough for this. Austria's largest raised forest bog, the "Tannermoor", as well as the headwaters of the rivers "Schwarze Aist" and "Weiße Aist", "Kleine Naarn" and "Kamp" are located in the municipality.
