Hiking trail in Kaltenberg in the Mühlviertel region
Imposing rock formations are typical of the Mühlviertel. And you will discover these and more on a hike along the Obergrabenweg trail. Shortly after the starting point in Kaltenberg, at the first farm along the trail, you can marvel at a 300-year-old listed lime tree. The trail continues through beautiful meadow and forest paths to the Phallusstein: a stone with a bowl that is formed by the weather and was understood to be a special divine revelation. This is followed by an impressive ascent to the Rifflberg. A fantastic panorama awaits you here: a sweeping view of the Mühlviertel hills in the direction of Sandl. You should definitely plan some time to linger here before heading back to Kaltenberg.
