A walk through the universe: the Peuerbach Astro Trail - starry moments in nature. Peuerbach calls itself the "town of stars" because its most important son Georg von Peuerbach was a famous astronomer at the beginning of the modern era. Panels provide information about him, our solar system and the constellations of astrology. The planets of our solar system are each depicted in relation to the earth; their panels are placed at the relative distances of their actual distance from the sun. A large planetarium shows the different speeds of the individual planets; it can be moved with a crank. The section of the starry firmament visible for the respective night and time can be adjusted on an oversized star chart and the illuminated constellations can be recognised. As the comparison is only possible at night, the star chart is illuminated. The path is a 1.1 km long tarmac footpath and leads along the Ledererbach stream. An important battle of the Upper Austrian Peasants' War of 1626 also took place here. Two memorials commemorate this.
