Mountain route to the Kremsmauer

Mountain route on well-marked and signposted paths, surefootedness required from the ascent to the Törl including some fixed ropes. An extremely rewarding day route for enduring mountain enthusiasts.

The starting point is the parking lot near the Krems spring at Micheldorf, followed by a strenuous ascent to the Parnstaller Alm; after a longer traverse, the route goes up to the Törl. The path to the rock gate between Falkenmauer and Pyramide is secured with ropes. After a short descent follows the final ascent to the magnificent summit of the Kremsmauer (1,604 m). The next destination is the Gradnalm, from where the descent to the valley follows.

Directions:On the circular route over the Törl and further to the Gradnalm, some climbs add up to a total of 1,400 meters of elevation. An extremely rewarding day route for enduring mountain enthusiasts.
The parking lot near the Krems spring at Micheldorf is the starting point of this circular route. Following the signs, one crosses the Krems, and the path through the forest soon begins to climb steeply. High above a partly deeply incised ravine, the path winds upward. Only in the area of the Parnstaller Alm does it become flatter, and after a longer traverse one reaches a crossroad, following the sign up to the Törl.
Some steep sections are secured with ropes, allowing one to reach the rock gate between Falkenmauer and Pyramide without major problems. A beautiful spot for a rest before descending about 100 meters in altitude toward Steyrling, then ascending steeply again to the magnificent summit of the Kremsmauer.
Far below one discovers the next goal of this mountain tour, the Gradnalm. Descent to the junction to Steyrling, ascent back to the Törl, down to the crossroads, known from the ascent. From here, follow trail no. 444, winding beneath the impressive rock walls of Falkenmauer, turning north and always following the ridge to the Gradnalm.
Beautiful views into the lonely forest landscape below the small summit of Rauher Kalbling are a first reward, followed by countless yellow glowing globeflowers on the alpine meadows at the Gradnalm and a cozy rest at the hut as a third.
Refreshed with new energy, the last descent into the valley can be managed. Arrival: from Kirchdorf to Micheldorf, continue towards Krems spring.

Die Gradnalm liegt am Fuße des schroffen Kammes der Kremsmauer auf einer Seehöhe von ca. 1.240 m und bietet eine ausgezeichnete Aussicht. Die Wanderer werden bei uns mit hofeigenen Produkten verwöhnt! Die Gradnalm ist ein beliebtes Wanderziel im Kremstal.
Es gibt mehrere Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten, am besten startet man vom Kremsursprung über die Sattelhald auf dem markierten Weg zur Gradnalm. Die Gehzeit beträgt ca. 2 Stunden und der Wanderweg ist nicht allzu schwierig. Eine Rundwanderung zur Falkenmauer, zum Kremsursprung, über das Törl auf die Kremsmauer, in die Steyrling oder auf den Pfannstein (Blick ins Tote Gebirge), bietet sich an.
Weiterer Aufstiegsmöglichkeiten:
Parkplatz "Grassner Kreuz" am Ziehberg (nach Ottsdorf/Micheldorf Richtung Steinbach am Ziehberg) Wanderweg K93 über Sattelhald auf Gradnalm. Gehzeit: ca. 2h
Von Steinbach am Ziehberg den Wanderweg K21 den Lackergraben über Sattelhald auf Gradnalm. Gehzeit: ca. 2,5h
Von der Pyhrnpass Bundesstraße B 138 von Schön Richtung Kirchdorf kommend, vor Micheldorf Richtung Flugplatz abbiegen, die Gradnalm ist bereits angeschrieben. Der Straße in die Krems bis zu den letzten Häusern folgen.
Das Ausflugsziel ist im Sommer sehr beliebt und bietet an heißen Tagen Abkühlung. Eine leichte Wanderung vom Parkplatz beim Himmelreichbiotop bietet der ganzen Familie ein idyllisches Ziel am Fuße der Kremsmauer.

Im Micheldorfer Himmelreich, ein „geschützter Landschaftsteil“, blüht es wie sonst nur an wenigen Orten. Farbenfrohe Frühlings-Krokusse eröffnen den Jahresreigen. Besonders empfehlenswert ist ein Besuch zur Orchideenblüte im Mai und Juni. 16 verschiedene heimische Orchideenarten wurden im Himmelreich gezählt, dazu kommen fünf verschiedene Arten des Enzian. Die Wiesen werden bewusst nur einmal im Jahr gemäht und das nicht vor Juli. Das begünstigt bodenbrütende Vögel und ist mit ein Grund, warum gerade hier eine große Artenvielfalt der fliegenden Zeitgenossen heimisch geworden ist.
Mit dem PKW:
Autobahn A9 Abfahrt Klaus anschließend links abbiegen auf B138 Pyhrnpass Straße in Richtung Micheldorf, nach ca. 5 km links abbiegen Richtung In der Krems/Himmelreichbiotop über Bahnübergang dem Straßenverlauf ca. 2 km folgen anschließend befindet sich das Himmelreichbiotop auf der Linken Seite mit großzügigen Parkplatz.
