From Mondsee through the Helenental valley to Koloman's hill

Easy to hike mountain trail leading to the Koloman's hill and the oldest wooden church in Austria.

Starting point is in the town of Mondsee at the parking next to the cemetary. Enter the street between the flower store and the blacksmith and follow the river all way long until you reach the Erlachmühle snack bar. From here follow the way #8 until you reach the restaurant "Leidingerhof" on top of the hill. From here a trail starts uphill leading through the forest to the peak. Note the panels of the Via Dolorosa while hiking up to the target - the eldest wooden church in Austria. Note that the highest point of the Koloman's hill is military exclusion zone and must not be entered. The two buildings on top of the mountain are radar stations of the Austrian army.
