St. Johann am Walde
St. Johann am Walde nestles amidst the Kobernausser forest to the south-east of the district of Braunau.
The town of St Johann am Walde stretches across some 40 square kilometers of land, 65 % of which are covered with forests. More than 2,000 people live in the foothills and valleys along the upper Moosbach Valley, reaching as far as Frauschereck at an altitude of 708 m above sea level. St Johann ranks therefore among the highest towns throughout the district and offers magnificent views and vistas of the surrounding countryside.
