Entrance ticket to the wilderness: through wild forests and along beautiful trails in the Kalkalpen National Park and to the romantic Anlaufalm
From Reichraming station to the north side of the station (between the Enns and the tracks) and follow the road to the left (west) towards the village. Only at the confluence of the Enns and Reichramingbach rivers does the road turn left and lead directly into the village of Reichraming. There you will find the last shopping facilities for a few days (supermarket, pastry shop, butcher, bank). Immediately after the village square, turn left up a hill and, passing the forestry museum and a game reserve, you will soon come to a forest road that leads you out of the village slightly above the Reichramingbach stream towards the Hintergebirge mountains. Follow this path or the E66 forest road (ignore all possible signposted junctions!) past a few individual residential and farmsteads and after approx. 1 hour 30 minutes you will reach the Anzenbach parking lot.
From the Anzenbach parking lot, turn left over a bridge, pass a forest barrier and turn left to the "Buchensteig" trail entrance. Follow the revitalized trail briefly through a forest. You then cross a forest road and cross the Reichramingbach stream on a suspension bridge. In the shade and always with the babbling of the Rechramingbach stream in your ears, you follow the forest trail for 3.5 km to the Wilden Graben. A wooden footbridge takes you to a forest road. Follow this road slightly downhill for approx. 100 m (to the left). Then turn right onto the beech path again. A slight up and down takes you to the Wasserboden, where a wooden footbridge offers a magnificent view of the natural stream landscape of the Reichramingbach. Passing the entrance to the Begsteiger-Steig trail on the left, which leads up to the Ebenforstalm, you finally reach the Rabenbach bridge. Photo trap pictures and tracks reveal that this is also used by lynx in winter.
You cross the bridge and reach a forest road again on the other bank (Hintergebirgsradweg), which you now follow to the right for approx. 20 minutes up the stream and finally through two short tunnels to the Große Klause and the Klaushütte snack station. The history of the former lumberjack hut dates back to 1758. At that time, the hut served as accommodation for forest workers who felled wood and then transported it along the stream by water for further processing (timber drift). The location of the hut was geographically very important, as it was near the last hermitage before Reichraming. The last drift took place in 1936. After that, the forest railroad was built to transport the wood away. After a rest, hike upstream on the forest road for around 20 minutes and then turn left towards Keixen. You now have to climb a little over 400 meters in altitude. Pass a dilapidated hunting lodge and follow the signs to the Anlaufalm. Finally, you reach the alpine pasture on the wide alpine pasture floor, which offers a magnificent view of the highest mountain in the Hintergebirge, the lonely Größtenberg.
