Description: Please note that the Trans National Park is only signposted in one direction: from Steyr to Johnsbach.

Note from the National Park Oö Kalkalpen GmbH:
Please note that due to global warming, natural events such as storms, thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail, floods or mudslides occur more frequently and that changes to the road surface or the route can occur at any time. Riding on the MTB trail network in the Kalkalpen National Park is at your own risk and responsibility. As a user, you are responsible in particular for your route selection, orientation in the area, compliance with traffic regulations, the fittings and equipment of your bike, wearing a helmet, assessing your personal ability to perform, assessing dangers and maintaining a reasonable speed. When driving in the tunnels, a head lamp or a lamp attached to the bike must be used. The national park administration excludes any kind of liability for damage caused by using the national park tour suggestions, especially for accidents.

In the middle of the wilderness: Crossing the wooded and lonely Kalkalpen National Park to the pretty climatic health resort of Windischgarsten.

Attention: This stage is one of the two longest and at the same time the most demanding of the entire Trans National Park. If you are on the road with an E MTB, then divide your battery carefully and do not ride at the highest level even with a 625 Wh battery. Or you can use one of the charging stations along the route in between. Driving on the 1 km long sliding / single trail passage is only recommended for technically experienced mountain bikers - otherwise it is better to push this passage through it. In addition, there are a few short meadow or single trail passages on the route, which otherwise runs continuously on forest and asphalt roads

Charging stations along the stage:

Ebenforstalm (when consuming charging ist free; only with your own charging cable)
Jagahäusl (when consuming charging ist free; only with your own charging cable)
Kalkalpen National Park: panoramic mountain bike tour

This stage is all about the Kalkalpen National Park and thus the wooded, lonely low mountain range of the Reichraminger Hintergebirge and the Sengsengebirge. First you follow the valleys and gorges of the Reichraminger Bach and the Großer Bach, before you climb uphill through lonely forests and hills to reach the Ebenforstalm, which is like an oasis in the middle of the forests. Now it goes a few hundred meters down to the Scheiblingau in the middle of the Sengsengebirge. You follow the course of the Krumme Steyrling to the south, past the managed Jagahäusl and thus reach the only longer single trail passage in the entire Trans National Park, over which you - pushing or driving - reach the "Steyrsteg". A final ascent takes you to Haslersgatter before you slowly roll down the asphalt road to Windischgarsten.
