Description: June to September - if snowfree

From the Frauenkar mountain station, make your way up the easy via ferrata – along the south-eastern ridgeline to the summit of the Warscheneck. In a hollow prior to the mountain station of the Frauenkar, you will find the start of a marked ascent involving some easy climbing (max. Level I) to the Widerlechnerstein (elev. 2107m), where you briefly head west. On the ridgeline, or occasionally to the left of it, make your way up to the first safety holds. This climb is well secured with the help of metal stirrups and handholds as well as cables.

In easy terrain (steel cables, foot pegs) upwards (A/B), with a steeper passage just below the summit (B). You exit the climb practically right there at the summit cross on the Warscheneck.

From the valley station of the Frauenkar double chairlift, path No. 218 branches off in the direction of the “Eisernes Bergerl”. Partially alongside the ski slope, then through severely fissured terrain and sparse larch forest, a clearly marked, though unnumbered path branches off to the mountain station of the Frauenkarbahn.

How difficult will it be?
Surefootedness is required. Only the difficult and very exposed parts are secured (A/B).
There are also some climbing sections with difficulty level I. For those who are not so experienced
via ferrata equipment is recommended.
For children with mountain experience (recommended from 10 years), a short safety rope should be included.

Actual time on trail from the Frauenkar valley station ca. 2 ½ hrs. until the summit!
The Frauenkar double chairlift runs from the beginning of July until the beginning of September, every Wednesday – Saturday – Sunday and public holiday, though only in good weather!
Starting point: Mountain station of the Frauenkar double chairlift on the Wurzeralm
Destination: Summit of the Warscheneck
