Short description:

E-Bike pleasure tour in 7 daily stages with approx. 460 km and approx. 5,000 m elevation gain
The route is well marked and mostly follows state bike paths along rivers and bodies of water from the Steyr Valley via the Kremstal and Almtal to Gmunden, further at the transition to the Alpine foothills to Bad Hall, via Wolfern and Steyr into the Ennstal and over the Reichraminger Hintergebirge into the Pyhrn-Priel region and back to Steyr.

Directions:

Stage 1 


From the Reithoffer parking lot, it is best to cycle via Steyr city square, through the romantic Wehrgraben out of town and follow the Steyrtal bike path R 8 via Aschach/Steyr to Steinbach/Steyr and Grünburg. Continue through the beautiful floodplain landscape along the Steyr River, past natural bathing areas, rest areas and experience stations via Leonstein and the National Park community Molln - accompanied by views of the Sengsengebirge and the Dead Mountains - to the turnoff to the Kremstal bike path R 10. Now continue on R 10 via Kirchdorf to the end of the 1st stage in Schlierbach.

Bike Shuttle Bus


The route between Steyr and Spital am Pyhrn can also be comfortably managed by the bike shuttle bus! This way, the sights along the route can be enjoyed particularly comfortably – and there is also enough time for the occasional cultural or culinary detour. The bike shuttle runs from the end of May to the end of October, from Thursday to Sunday and on public holidays. The current departure times and stops can be found at www.steyr-nationalpark.at. Attention: This service must be booked in advance via the website!


Nostalgia insider tip!


Take a section of the Steyrtal bike path R 8 (20 km) from Grünburg to Steyr with the Steyrtal museum railway! The old steam locomotive runs on weekends from May to October – bike transport is free! E-Bike rental: You can rent e-bikes in Garsten, Grünburg, Windischgarsten, Spital/Pyhrn, Hinterstoder, Roßleithen, Bad Hall, Grünau and Gmunden. Further information is available from your "Bett+Bike" accommodations and our guest hosts at the tourist information offices, who will also gladly reveal some "secret spots" and assist you with advice and support.
