After the P1 parking lot, please follow the Steinweg farm road to the turnaround parking lot for emergency vehicles.
From this turnaround parking lot for emergency vehicles (coordinates: 48.757010, 13.827640), the hiking trail begins on the right-hand side, heading uphill. From here, follow the signs toward Steineres Meer, Dreiländereck, Plöckenstein, and the other marked hiking destinations.
Please observe the road closures and follow only the signposted detour.

Hike to the Steinernen Meer (DE), Dreiländereck and Plöckenstein. Big ascents! Good footwear required and don't forget your passport No trail number!
0 km You start the hike in Oberschwarzenberg at the paid car park P1 or at the free car park P2 opposite the Gasthof Dreiländereck and follow the signs (yellow aluminium signs indicating the destinations) Steinernes Meer, Dreiländereck, Plöckenstein and Weg der Entschleunigung.0.1m Branch off into the forest towards Teufelsschüsseln. An ascending forest path follows. Once you reach the Teufelsschüsseln after 1.3 km, you can enjoy a beautiful view after climbing the steps.
Soon afterwards you will reach a narrow forest road, cross it and shortly afterwards reach a wider forest road. Follow this uphill until you reach a sharp bend to the right.
Leave the forest road here and turn left. A short time later you reach the Grenzbach stream. Here you also meet the Nordwaldkammweg. Cross the Grenzbach stream and follow the signs to the Steinernen Meer

5.4 km Plöckenstein - the highest elevation in the Mühlviertel at 1379 m. A detour to the Adalbert Stifter monument (20 minutes one way) and to Plöckensteinersee (55 minutes one way) on the Czech side is worthwhile. The view of the lake from the Adalbert Stifter obelisk is particularly impressive.
However, bear in mind the difference in altitude to the Plöckensteinersee lake, which is around 300 metres over about 2 km, and allow around 2 hours for the outward and return journey to the Plöckensteinersee lake.
At the Plöckenstein, continue the hike eastwards along the Grenzsteig trail. After about 10-15 minutes, branch off to the right from the Grenzsteig and follow the signs "Car park P1 + P2 in Oberschwarzenberg on forest road". After 3.2 km, you will reach the Teufelsschüsseln again.
On the same route, walk downhill back to the Plöckenstein...
