The entire federal state is alive with electricity. Starting from the Salzkammergut and following the Danube through the provincial capital of Linz to the state's northernmost reaches in the Bohemian Forest, an increasingly dense network of e-bike rental companies, charging stations and tours is flourishing.

But it's particularly the Salzkammergut region of mountains and lakes and the peaks of the Bohemian Forest that offer countless opportunities to test out the "power" of electric assistance to the full. The nature of the countryside around Steyr at the entrance to the Limestone Alps National Park region and the Vitalwelt health resort centred around Bad Schallerbach means these areas are also ideally suited for excursions by electric bike.
