Description: Due to necessary renovation measures, the Marienbrücke bridge in Gmunden over the Traun river will be closed from 21.07.2025 to 14.08.2025
diversion information: In the direction of Gmunden center from Laakirchen, take the cycle path along the Herzogmauer from the Marienbrücke bridge, then follow the multi-purpose lane to Kliemsteinstraße, turn right into Linzerstraße to the Traunbrücke bridge, turn right over the bridge and then left in front of the Trauntor gate back onto the cycle path in the direction of Rathausplatz Gmunden or further in the direction of R2 Salzkammergutradweg.
In the opposite direction, we recommend a small, cycle-friendly loop over the Traunbrücke bridge, then right into Schiffslände, then right into Traunsteinstraße, and immediately left again into Hochmüllergasse, then left into Annastraße (be careful, the Traunseetram level crossing is secured with traffic lights), to the crossroads, briefly left and then immediately right again to the traffic circle, 3 exits and along the multi-purpose lane on Mühlwang- resp. Linzerstraße, along the Herzogmauer we recommend the cycle path again to the junction Marienbrücke, continue on the multi-purpose lane in the direction of Laakirchen.
An enjoyable cycling holiday trip!
Perfect for those who are planning a cycling holiday on their own doorstep: A new e-bike pleasure tour leads in six to seven daily stages over a length of approx. 462 kilometres and approx. 5,000 metres of altitude from/to Steyr.
On the way, you will be able to explore the regional, cultural and culinary highlights at your own pace along rivers and waters.
From Gmunden you take the R4 cycle path out of town to Laakirchen, where you change to the R13 cycle path in the town center. This leads at the transition from the Alpine foothills with views of the magnificent mountains to Kirchham, further in the direction of Vorchdorf via Pettenbach to Wartberg. From here you follow the Kremstalradweg R 10 to Kremsmünster, where you leave the R10 at the corner of Franz-Lutzky Strasse / Kremsegger Strasse and branch off via "in der Scheiben" to Pfarrkirchen to reach Bad Hall, the destination of the 3rd stage.
