The path leads from the Anton Schosser Hut over the Sonnkogel ridge (1,177m) through a magical forest and back over the flat forest road to the summit of Hohe Dirn (1,134m) and back to the Anton Schosser Hut.

Die Anton-Schosser-Hütte lädt zu unvergesslichen Naturerlebnissen inmitten der malerischen Landschaft der Nationalpark Region ein.
Die Anton-Schosser-Hütte auf 1.158 m Seehöhe ist ein idyllisches Plätzchen in der Nationalparkregion Ennstal und ein ideales Ziel für Wanderer und Naturliebhaber. Benannt wurde die Hütte nach dem oberösterreichischen Heimatdichter Anton Schosser. Von der Sonnenterrasse genießt man einen herrlichen Ausblick auf das oberösterreichische Alpenvorland, während regionale Bioprodukte für kulinarische Köstlichkeiten sorgen. Ob als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen, als gemütlicher Stützpunkt für Übernachtungen oder als Winterparadies für Skitouren und Schneeschuhwanderungen - die ganzjährig geöffnete Hütte bietet Erholung und Abenteuer inmitten beeindruckender Natur.

Welcome to the Anton Schosserhütte!
Dear mountain enthusiasts, hikers, and nature lovers! The Anton Schosserhütte was built in 1925 as a ski lodge and is located in the heart of the Upper Austrian Pre-Alps, on the edge of the Kalkalpen National Park at 1,158 meters above sea level
This Category I mountain hut has been managed by Claudia Breitenstein and Herbert Brem since June 2025; they’ll also take care of your culinary needs. Both cold and hot meals are available.
The A. Schosser Hut is a typical Pre-Alpine hut and is therefore open year-round.
See below for operating hours. However, drinks are always available in the shelter area outside of operating hours.

In addition to the access routes from the train stations in Losenstein (Trail No. 467), Reichraming (Trail No. 35 / Connection No. 30), and Trattenbach (Trail No. 32 / Connection No. 33) the hut can also be reached by mountain bike from Molln (Hausbach and via Mösern), from Trattenbach (via Wendbach), from Reichraming (via Geißhanslniedern and Mösern), and from Losenstein (Hohe Dirn road).
The surrounding hiking area also offers a variety of alpine activities, ranging from hikes (to the peaks of Hohe Dirn, Sonnkogel, and Schneeberg) to ski touring.
For quick stopovers or as a child-friendly hike, the approach can be significantly shortened by taking the access road to the paid parking lots (https://www.steyr-nationalpark.at/aktivitaeten/sommer/wandern/gebuehrenparkplaetze.html) from Losenstein via the Hohe Dirn Road.

From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn > motorway exit Klaus > Grünburg > into the Ennstal Valley

The Ennstalbahn runs between Linz and Weißenbach-St. Gallen.

Note: Parking spaces on the Hohe Dirn are subject to fees!
Parking from the Weiderost area at the transformer station is only allowed in parking lots B and D.
