Allerheiligen Pilgrimage Church

The history of Allerheiligen´s origin

Around 1490 a farmer suffering from plague lived in Allerheiligen. His last wish was the following: after his death the body should be put on a cart drawn by cattle. Wherever the cows stopped for the first time he wanted his grave. Additionally, a small hut for praying should be founded on the same place. The cattle stopped amid an uninhabited area. A small chapel was erected beside a giant pine tree and many people, suffering from varied diseases, came there to pray. Thanks to generous donations of money today´s church was built in 1492.

Historic Organ:
The pilgrimage church features an outstandingly precious organ dating back to period between 1610 and 1650. Every year on the occasion of the Allerheiligen Organ Festival marvelous organ concerts are held.
