Starting point from the car park (free of charge) next to the children's playground, 4864 Attersee, Abtsdorf 71 . Turn right at the children's playground and continue left at the wayside shrine to Leithen. Before the bridge over the Ackerlingbach stream, turn left again to return to Abtsdorf.
The parish church in Abtsdorf is also worth a visit. The pulpit as well as the altars and new light pictures are by the Mondsee baroque sculptor Meinrad Guggenbichler Allow an hour for the hike. It is ideal with children or as a morning or evening walk. The path is very well signposted (yellow signposts) and marked (red-white-red).
A visit to the pilgrimage church of St Laurentius opposite (link) is always worthwhile. With a bit of luck, you will find black candles for sale in the church, which the locals light in their houses during heavy storms!
The Ackerlrunde can be walked in both directions. The following description is anti-clockwise and starts in a westerly direction:
From the playground, follow the yellow signposts "Ackerlrunde" in a westerly direction. After approx. 200 metres you will reach a crossroads. There is a small wayside shrine on the left-hand side of the road and you will see the yellow signposts again. The hiking trail turns left before the junction with the main road to Wildenhag into a passable dirt track. Follow this for approx. 700 metres before you reach a small forest after a beautiful view of the Höllengebirge mountains. After another 100 metres you come to a small wooden bridge. Immediately before the bridge (follow the signposts), turn left along the Ackerlingbach stream through an idyllic forest. Please do not leave the path here to protect the game. After approx. 300 metres, a shady bench awaits you at the edge of the forest! Take a break and listen into the forest. Please do not leave any rubbish behind, even cigarette butts can be deadly for birds! Now follow the Wieg along the meadows and fields in a straight direction. You can already see the church of Abtsdorf Back in the village you will pass the Hotel Alpenblick (insert link). It is then only 200 m along Abtsdorfer Straße back to the car park.
