The Enisa Quartet, now a regular feature of the “Chamber Music at the Reithoffer” series, will once again perform a work by a female composer on November 7: Emilie Mayer, arguably the greatest German female composer of the 19th century. Her String Quartet in G minor is the only one of her many chamber music works that was published during her lifetime.
The program is rounded out by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s String Quartet No. 8, which the 17-year-old composed during a stay in Vienna, and by one of Robert Schumann’s most beautiful works—the 170th anniversary of his death will be marked in 2026 : his Piano Quintet, Op. 44, dedicated to his wife Clara Schumann. We are delighted to welcome another “regular” of the “Chamber Music at the Reithoffer” series to perform the piano part of this magnificent chamber music work: pianist Kanade Joho.
