TRIO ZIV TAUBENFELD / HELENA ESPVALL / JOÃO SOUSA

Based in Lisbon’s creative music scene, this trio brings together three musicians with a sound all their own.

Bass clarinet -> Ziv Taubenfeld
Cello -> Helena Espvall
Drums -> Joao Sousa

The unusual lineup of bass clarinet, cello, and drums creates plenty of room for collaborative exploration and spontaneous developments. Their music ranges from calm, meditative soundscapes to wild, free outbursts. The trio’s debut album was released on NoBusiness Records and was described by the Free Jazz Collective as “truly new, unique, and wonderful.”
