Triol

The group Triol offers a refreshingly different take on the concept of jazz.

Triol—founded in 2007, initially to perform the music of Medeski, Martin & Wood, and later to develop their own blend of free improvisation and groove-oriented music.

In addition to the vintage aesthetic of the Rhodes piano, analog synthesizers, and effects, it is above all the interplay between collective improvisations and composed, often ostinato-like sections that defines the trio’s distinctive and groovy sound.
