Nicole Nau
Nicole Nau's journey to becoming one of the most famous and influential tango dancers in the world is extraordinary. Born in 1963 in Düsseldorf, she worked for renowned agencies after studying graphic design when she saw the show "Tango Argentino" on stage in 1988. Fascinated, she traveled to Argentina - and lost her heart forever to the tango. She trained to become a professional dancer and quickly established an outstanding position in the Argentinian and international tango scene. Initially scrutinized as a foreigner, ten years later she was honored by the former president as the "best tango dancer", and the Argentinian post even dedicated two stamps to her as a representative of Argentinian tango. Her adventurous life and love story with tango and her husband Luis Pereyra are told in her successful book "Dance Tango with Life", published in 2013 by Bastei Lübbe. As a designer and costume designer, Nicole Nau is also responsible for the stunning dresses and the entire staging of the shows, as well as the lighting design. In addition to her role as the artistic director of the historic tango theater "Viejo Almacen" in Buenos Aires, Nicole Nau and Luis Pereyra tour the world with their own company El Sonido de mi Tierra in varying lineups. Nicole Nau is a member of CID UNESCO.

Luis Pereyra
Luis Pereyra was born in 1965 in Santiago del Estero. At the age of five, he already danced in folklore groups, and at ten he became a member of Ballet Argentino. After studying choreography and extensive dance training in Buenos Aires, he participated as a dancer and choreographer in all major, globally successful tango productions - including Forever Tango, Tango Pasiòn, and from 1987 to 2000 in the musical Tango Argentino, for which he received the Tony Award for Best Choreography in 2000. For Luis Pereyra, music is the source of all dance. Therefore, he carefully chooses strong compositions of original Argentinian music for the shows and places great importance on instrumentation with authentic instruments like bandoneon, cajas, and large bombo drums. Luis Pereyra is not only a gifted tango dancer and the king of Argentinian tap dance but also a passionate musician and a true master of the boleadoras. No wonder the press calls him the Fred Astaire of Argentina. Luis Pereyra taught Lady Diana and Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace and danced for Al Pacino, Robin Williams, and Marty Cosens in the USA.

Tango de Salón
Even Astor Piazzolla preferred the quintet format with bandoneon - the "soul of tango" - violin, guitar, double bass, and piano. Initially attached to this great composer and inventor of "nuevo tango," the ensemble also turned to the so-called beautifully dancible salon tango, particularly reflected in the old numbers from 1890 to 1950 that dominate the program. In Coco Nelegatti, an Argentinian tango specialist, they ultimately found an authentic arranger and composer.

The quintet plays music from the founding era of tango, including works by Angel Villoldo, Juan de Dios Filiberto, Carlos Gardel, or Aníbal Troilo, as well as hits from the tango renewer Astor Piazzolla or newly composed pieces by Coco Nelegatti or Ramiro Gallo. Excursions into the sadness of Finnish tango or the virtuosity of Russian tango are also possible.

The first CD of the ensemble was released by Gramola Wien in 2011, which has also staged programs with the Argentinian singer Oscar Imhoff or the actors Julia Stemberger, Mercedes Echerer, and Fritz Karl.
