Jazz at Traxlmayr: Zweimaurer

Four musicians, two bricklayers, one band. A father and daughter who lead the band and compose together. Of course, it’s jazz, but of course the term “jazz” doesn’t do justice to the quartet’s deeply unique style.

Each of the four artists brings a completely unique and idiosyncratic musical style to the table, and when they come together, the result is a musical explosion that blends contemporary acoustic jazz, blues, Latin, and rock. It’s a fiery mix—spiced with odd meters, complex harmonies, melodies that are sometimes catchy, a touch of melancholy, and plenty of musical wit.
