Storytelling Café: About Forgotten Everyday Objects

The Steyr City Museum invites you to a storytelling café titled “Of Things That Have Disappeared” on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. (Please note: new time!) The discussion will center on a slide projector from the former Promenade Boys’ Elementary School, now part of the City Museum’s collection. Other everyday objects that were once taken for granted but are now almost forgotten—such as the neighborhood payphone, typewriters, floppy disks, or laundry beaters—evoke memories of times gone by and personal stories.

The Storytelling Café offers an opportunity to reminisce, share, and tell stories together in a cozy atmosphere within the historic setting of the Innerberger Stadel.

Anyone interested is warmly invited to share their stories or simply listen to the memories of others. Feel free to bring photos or small mementos.
