Two giants of Austrian folk music have released their first collaborative album; on Saturday, September 26, Ernst Molden and Sigrid Horn will perform music from their album “Kuaz vuan Weda” at the Salzhof in Freistadt.
Sigrid Horn & Ernst Molden, both award-winning singer-songwriters, have finally found each other and joined their voices. Separated by a generation or two and at home in a dialect that blends Vienna and the Mostviertel, the two sing about beets and lamb’s lettuce in their collaborative songs, set to enchanting Americana sounds from the prairies between Memphis, the Mostviertel, Kentucky, and Erdberg. Performing as a stripped-down duo, yet with an electrically charged tension in the air, the audience can expect a profound, moving concert evening featuring two exceptional talents who complement each other perfectly and together create a whole new emotional depth. Moldens’ melancholic, raw poetry—deeply rooted in the Viennese soul—meets Horn’s unmistakable, powerful, yet intimately tender voice, catapulting modern dialect music far beyond traditional boundaries.Salzgasse 25, 4240 Freistadt
