Old friends are celebrating anniversaries together: the Alte Schule is still celebrating its 40th anniversary, while the Köter are a bit younger, but at 25, they’ve already outgrown their infancy.

The Köter is a band from Upper Austria—more specifically, from the region around Linz/Eferding—that has been active since 2001 and is known for its unique, genre-blending sound.

In its early years, The Köter enjoyed great success as a Tom Waits cover band.

Gradually, they began adding their own original songs…
Over the years, they have released several albums featuring their original songs.

Musical style: A blend of bluesy rock and French folk, with experimental and psychedelic elements.
