On the Trail of the Beaver: The New Log Flume at the Taferlklaussee

On this exciting excursion for the whole family, you’ll head to the Taferlklaussee together with wildlife ecologist Clemens Trixner. Participants will discover real beaver lodges, fresh feeding traces, and beaver dams, and gain hands-on insight into the beaver’s way of life as well as its role in water conservation and our cultural landscape.

Have you ever seen a real beaver lodge up close or marveled at the impressive tracks left by the largest native rodent? The Taferlklaussee hides a fascinating world of beaver experiences. Together with wildlife ecologist Clemens Trixner, participants will immerse themselves in the life of the beaver and learn about the millions-of-years-old aquatic expertise of this skilled landscape architect.

On this guided excursion, you’ll discover fresh feeding traces and massive beaver dams. You’ll also gain practical insight into the challenges posed by the beaver’s return to our modern cultural landscape and whether it can serve as a partner in water conservation by retaining water and creating new habitats. An exciting nature experience for the whole family!
