Ludwig van Beethoven’s“Gassenhauer Trio”is paired with works for clarinet, cello, and piano by Max Bruch, Nino Rota, Arvo Pärt, and Vincent d’Indy.
Clarinetist Daniel Ottensamer and cellist Stephan Koncz are not only members of the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestras, respectively; the two colleagues are also united by their passion for chamber music. Together with pianist Christoph Traxler, the musicians have joined forces to perform, among other works, Beethoven’s infamous“Gassenhauer Trio.” In the third movement of this trio, Beethoven incorporated a melody from the opera *L’amor marinaro* by composer Joseph Weigl, which, following its premiere in 1797, became a genuine hit on everyone’s lips (and in everyone’s ears). The program is rounded out by additional compositions for clarinet, cello, and piano by composers such as Max Bruch, the Italian film score composer Nino Rota, Arvo Pärt, and Vincent d’Indy.Untere Donaulände 7, 4010 Linz
