There are so many peaks in this country. And we’re not just talking about mountains here: the world’s tallest rocking chair, Southern Styria’s largest walk-in wine bottle, the fastest summer toboggan run this side of the Danube. Superlatives everywhere you look—and they all want to be climbed, scaled, conquered, and overcome.
In a world that divides everything and everyone into winners and losers, every small town must have the biggest something, and every person must rise above themselves. But if strength is nothing more than an end in itself, isn’t every peak also a low point?
Sonja Pikart observes how “strong” men, in their hunger for power, devour the planet. How high-performers at the gym train their hearts—not to love better, but to run away faster. In the process, she discovers poetry in times of weakness. Surrounded by an army of nuclear families who believe they’ve won the game of life, she finds romance in friendships.
And when, at the weakest moment of her life, someone shouts at her, “You’re so strong!” she crafts an action figure of herself and realizes: now is the time to feel immortal!

Sonja Pikart moved from Germany to Austria in 2009 to study acting at the Vienna Conservatory. After graduating in 2013, she initially gained experience through several theater engagements. But she soon discovered her passion for cabaret and made a spectacular debut on the cabaret scene in 2015 with her debut show “Gluten Abend!”

Her fourth and current show, “Halb Mensch,” premiered in January 2024 and was awarded the Austrian Cabaret Prize in the Grand Prize category that same year.

With her unmistakably multifaceted humor and sharp-witted view of the world, Sonja Pikart regularly captivates her audience and is one of the most important voices in contemporary cabaret.
