The 14 teams in the multinational ice hockey league will kick off the 2026–27 season in September, which will be played as a double round-robin format.

The top six teams after the regular season are automatically qualified for the quarterfinals. The teams ranked seventh through tenth will compete in “pre-playoffs” (best-of-3) to determine the remaining two quarterfinalists. Starting with the quarterfinals, all rounds will be played in a “best-of-7” format to determine the Austrian champion and the champion of the win2day ICE Hockey League.
