Anti Disco. Bruckner Festival 2026.
Anyone who knows Lars Eidinger only as an actor knows only half the story. Since 2001, he has been organizing the cult party series “Autistic Disco” —renamed “Anti Disco” in 2022, in homage to Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s “Antiteater”—which he has turned into a legend at Berlin’s Schaubühne, where he has been a member of the ensemble since 1999. His sets have taken him to clubs from Berlin (Funkhaus, Griessmühle) to Hamburg (Golden Pudel Club), Leipzig (Spinnerei), and Frankfurt (Schirn Kunsthalle).
As a DJ, Eidinger plays an eclectic mix, defining “pop” as anything related to pop culture: rap, breakbeat, ’80s music, industrial bass, and techno—ranging from 80 to 130 BPM. In doing so, he follows DJ Koze’s motto: “A good DJ is defined above all by what he doesn’t play.” In 1998, the 10” vinyl “I’ll Break Ya Legg” was released on the Berlin label !K7—the cornerstone of a musical career that regularly brings him behind the mixing board. He was also responsible for the musical concepts of several productions by Thomas Ostermeier at the Schaubühne.
An exciting extension of the night: Following the reading performance “Das Unvereinbare in ein Gedicht” (together with George Kranz, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Hall), Eidinger takes over the turntables as host of the Takeover Nightline in the foyer and brings Anti Disco to Linz. Attendees of the 7:30 p.m. performance get free admission!
