Liachtbratlmontag 2026 in Bad Ischl – Tradition at the k.u.k. The Hola Trio will provide the musical entertainment.
Liachtbratl Monday in Bad Ischl is one of the region’s most important and time-honored holidays. This special Monday in the fall has been celebrated for over 100 years—originally as a gesture of thanks from employers to their employees when work resumed under artificial light (“Liacht”).Today, Liachtbratlmontag is an integral part of cultural life in Bad Ischl and has even been recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. The town celebrates, the taverns are full—and this tradition is also upheld at the k.u.k.
On Liachtbratl Monday 2026, we’ll be celebrating throughout the entire k.u.k.—from the Beisl to the Schirm—with all the trimmings:
The day traditionally begins in Bad Ischl with a parade and a tribute to those celebrating milestone birthdays. Afterward, many head straight to the restaurants—and the k.u.k. has been one of the central gathering spots for years.
Here, tradition meets pub culture, history meets the present—and a holiday becomes a day of celebration.
Liachtbratl Monday in Bad Ischl thrives on community. On long tables. On conversation. On a good roast and a glass of wine to go with it.
At the k.u.k., we celebrate this day just as it’s meant to be:
authentically, vibrantly, and with just the right amount of festive spirit.
