Whether you’re a beginner or already have some experience—at the fermentation workshop on September 26, 2026, you’ll gain valuable knowledge about healthy eating, probiotics, and traditional preservation methods. Look forward to a hands-on afternoon featuring seasonal ingredients, plenty of tips for home use, and homemade fermented foods to take home.

Saturday, September 26, 2026
2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a break in between

(In case of bad weather, the workshop will take place at the Rannariedl Parish Hall in Pühret.)

Preserving Food Naturally – Promoting Health – Discovering New Flavors

Under the expert guidance of Tobias Schlagitweit, you’ll learn just how simple and versatile fermentation can be. The workshop is designed for both beginners and those with some experience who want to deepen their knowledge and try out new ideas.

What to Expect

  • The basics of fermentation and natural preservation
  • Fascinating insights into gut health and probiotics
  • Hands-on work with seasonal fruits and vegetables from the Ackerhummel farm
  • Making 4 to 6 of your own fermented products to take home
  • Recipes, practical tips, and valuable storage know-how for use at home

Course fee

105.00 euros per person

The course fee includes:

  • €40.00 for materials
  • 4 to 6 homemade fermented foods to take home
  • Jars with lids
  • Fermentation weights
  • Spices
  • Seasonal fruits and vegetables from the Ackerhummel farm

Please feel free to share any personal requests when registering. Possible topics include:

  • Classic sauerkraut and creative variations
  • Making kombucha
  • Fermenting root and fruit vegetables in brine
  • Fermenting berries in honey
  • Other seasonal fermented foods

Please note:
This workshop is not suitable for people with histamine allergies, as fermented foods may contain high levels of histamine.
