The cult Schlager band “die Nockis” will perform at the Toscana Congress in Gmunden

Their albums have now reached No. 1 on the Austrian charts 12 times, and things are also going very well for the Nockis in Germany and Switzerland. The group has now earned a total of 37 gold and 29 platinum records, as well as a multi-precious-metal award, cementing their status as Austria’s most successful Schlager band.

All of this is a great honor for the Austrian cult band, which had to fear for the life of its frontman after Gottfried “Friedl” Würcher suffered a heart attack last year. But Friedl is doing well again now, and he looks back on the band’s history with pride: “Despite all the successes and setbacks I’ve experienced with my bandmates over the past 40 years, if someone were to ask me, I’d still say: Yes, I’d do it all over again!”
