The sound of Blasmuik.

Brass music has been experiencing a remarkable renaissance over the past two and a half decades, especially in our part of the world, and Mnozil Brass has played no small part in this development.
When we started in the early ’90s, playing without sheet music wasn’t a priority in most music clubs, traditional folk bands, and village bands. That has changed drastically since then. Today, there are countless small groups that have emerged from such organizations, and many play in the so-called “Mnozil lineup”—that is, with three high and four low brass players. Bands like “Global Kryner,” “Federspiel,” “HMBC,” and “LaBrassBanda” have reached a very broad audience over the past twenty years with their own interpretation of brass music and, in some cases, enjoy cult status.

For about a decade now, the “Woodstock of Brass Music” has been taking place—a steadily growing festival where the scene celebrates exuberantly every year. Here, the performers take the stage in front of crowds the likes of which are usually only found at major rock festivals. It’s all peaceful and features almost exclusively trumpets, trombones, clarinets, saxophones, tubas, and drums.
