For over 50 years now, the unique success story of one of the world’s most famous brass ensembles—Canadian Brass—has been unfolding. After the brass quintet was founded in 1970 by two friends, Chuck Daellenbach and Gene Watts, their shared creativity, their individually masterful musical skills, and their desire to explore all the possibilities of a pure brass ensemble quickly became their unmistakable hallmark. Each a virtuoso on his own instrument, the five members share their enthusiasm for the sound of brass with ever-changing audiences. Over the past decades, Canadian Brass has filled concert halls in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and Europe. They were the first Western brass ensemble to perform in the People’s Republic of China and have performed in Australia, the Middle East, Russia, and South America. Everywhere they go, they showcase their mastery of the brass art, with a unique stage presence and an exciting blend of dedication, joy of playing, and spontaneity.
