Heritage Day at the Schlossmuseum and Mariendom

Together with the Diocese of Linz, communale OÖ 2026 will transform the New Cathedral for one day into a place where heritage, art, history, spirituality, and social discourse come together in a unique way.

Program for the Castle Museum/Emlinger Holz:
11:00 a.m. Kepler Salon Extern – A Discursive Journey
Guided tour of the Peasants’ War exhibition with historian Konstantin Ferihumer and photographer Paul Kranzler, followed by a bus trip to Emlinger Holz with Franz, the tour guide -> return by bus to Linz for the opening of the AiR Krypta exhibition at the New Cathedral

New Cathedral Program:
2:00 – 6:00 p.m. RE©ZEPTION – Interpretation and Appropriation
Artistic exploration of the reception and appropriation of the Peasants’ War of 1626, featuring works by Janne Marie Dauer, Miriam Walcherberger-Kößler, Oscar Lebeck, Gabrielle Schuller, Mara Pollak, Lydia Wassner-Hauser, Verena Dolovai, and Ferdinand Reisenbichler;

2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Cathedral Tour

2:00 p.m. AustroFred – Community Walking Concert
