JUMP – Sports and Fitness Festival in Schärding

On August 8, the OVB Sportpark Schärding will become a gathering place for active children. At the free “JUMP” Sports and Activity Festival, children ages 6 to 10 can try out various sports, exciting games, and a variety of activity stations. The focus is on fun, the joy of movement, and trying new things together—all without any pressure to perform or compete.

Children love to be active—and that is exactly what the “JUMP” Sports and Activity Festival aims to encourage. Physical activity is essential for healthy physical, mental, and social development. Especially during kindergarten and elementary school years, children develop important motor skills that give them a sense of security, self-confidence, and a love for active leisure activities.

With “JUMP,” children ages 6 to 10 can look forward to a varied physical activity program tailored specifically to their needs. At various stations, participants can try their hand at simple coordination exercises, ball games, and tasks that test their dexterity and movement skills. The exercises are designed with children in mind and provide positive movement experiences for both physically active and less experienced children.

The goal of the event is to introduce children to the joy of physical activity and give them the opportunity to explore different sports. At the same time, the festival offers insight into the work of regional sports clubs and creates opportunities to discover new interests and talents.

The initiative is organized by the Upper Austrian Department of Family Affairs in collaboration with its partners SPORTUNION Upper Austria, HIGH JUMP, and the Kronen Zeitung. Professional supervision is provided by Günter Stöffelbauer from HIGH JUMP as well as experienced physical education teachers and coaches from the UNION regional association. With the support of regional clubs, qualified supervision is guaranteed at all stations.

All children are warmly invited to experience a varied day of vacation filled with play, physical activity, and fun, to make new friends, and to discover a passion for sports and physical activity.
